The following actions are planned to be executed by VISL to expedite the port development project.
Prepare a Master plan for the project with the land use pattern in the immediate vicinity of the port. Expected to be complete by end of 2011.
120 Hectares of land has to be acquired for the port project including Road connectivity, truck terminal, back up area and rail connectivity.This will be taken up ata a war footing and completed within the targeted timeline of FY 2011-12.
Ensure that Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies are completed and Environmental Clearence is obtained at the earliest so as to start the EPC work without delay. Target to be early 2012.
EPC consultant has been selected and the process of selection of an EPC contractor to be undertaken and completed in a fair and transparent manner. EPC contractor selection to be completed by early 2012.
Complete the Water and Power supply for construction requirements by early 2012 so as to enable to start construction work without delay.
Sorting out issues with NHAI for the construction of the By-pass to ensure road connectivity.
Multi lateral funding options will be sought for cheaper funding for the Project so as to avail funds by the time construction starts.
